BROKEN EQUILIBRIA (Ongoing project)
Research-based installation exploring the inner traces of climate change in trees
Mixed media, 2025–2026
Broken Equilibria explores the fragile balance between natural patterns and human disruption. The project is inspired by microscopic cross-sections of tree stems showing the inner effects of climate change —where cells collapse, fibers dry, and the rhythm of life is interrupted.
The installation takes the shape of a semicircular tree trunk that the viewer can step inside. Suspended within it hang delicate leaves drawn with turmeric on cyanotype paper —light traces that recall both photosynthesis and memory.
These leaves act as living fragments of the forest, oscillating between blue and gold, shadow and transparency. Together they form an inner landscape where equilibrium has been broken, yet the pulse of regeneration still remains.
Through the dialogue between cyanotype (sunlight) and turmeric (earth), the work reflects on the interdependence of natural systems and our need to reconnect with them from within —to see, listen, and feel again as part of the same living organism
