THE TREE RINGS TELL

The connection between nature and human civilization is drawn in the tree rings. Each tree ring contains a large quantity of information that shows enormous environmental changes are taking place.
This piece is made of 9 spherical cyanoprint photographs of tree rings taken in different forest die-off. Representing the 9 withering droughts that changed human history in last years:

Using only blue and white in prints, my ambition is to create an artwork that persuade the viewer to suspend their disbelief in climate change and take temporary refuge from the ordinary in the landscapes I create.
