Olafur Eliasson, sensitive and sentient

Updated: Jun 9

Olafur Eliasson (born 1967, IS/DK) is a visual artist who works in a wide range of media, including  sculptures and large-scale installations that use everyday things like light, water, and air temperature to make the viewer feel more connected to the everyday. Eliasson worked in other areas, such as architecture and product design. Olafur was previously a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts and has been an adjunct professor at the Alle School of Fine Arts and Design in Addis Ababa. His studio is based in Berlin, Germany.

"Your curious journey" is the first major solo exhibition in Southeast Asia dedicated to the work of Olafur Eliasson. The survey exhibition presents a broad range of artworks that employ diverse media to touch on the major themes of his three-decade-long practice – embodiment, experience, perception, as well as the urgency of climate action and more-than-human perspectives. I felt like walking through light, time, and questions. A luminous space where my perception becomes presence, and my curiosity becomes a form of care.
