(EN) Bill Viola (1951-2024) was an American artist internationally recognized for being a pioneer in the development of video art. In his videos he explores the human condition, in relation to issues such as birth, death, transformation, rebirth and transfiguration. Viola´s creations have a poetic content addressing the notion of time and its deconstruction. He experiments with the recording and manipulation of sounds from the environment and nature.

En sus vídeos explora la condición humana, en relación con cuestiones como el nacimiento, la muerte, la transformación, el renacimiento y la transfiguración. Sus creaciones tienen un gran contenido poético. Viola aborda la noción del tiempo y su deconstrucción, la indagación acerca de la existencia experimentando con la grabación y manipulación de sonidos procedentes del medioambiente y de la naturaleza.
